The SCA, Fighting and Me, Page 1

Where to start. I've been in the SCA now for a number of years. My first event was Bonfield III. What an experiance. I watched the fighting, listened to the singing. Was in awe of the few period pavillions I saw. That's all it took to get me hooked. Now years later, still develping a persona.... but I've found where my main intersts are.

It's taken me all these years but I've finally gotten armour together. Some of it's borrowed, some I've bought, some has been given to me. But it's a kit, and I'm happy with it. At least until I can get to pennsic and upgrade.

On Sunady April 29th I attended and participated in a fight practice. Going right back to the basics I worked with only two people. Keeping the teaching to the same spectrum. As the two gentles I worked with were Knight and Squire. I've been quite comfortable working with both of them.

If all goes well I should be authorized in time to fight at Pennsic this year. While I may not be a great fighter by then, I'll be having fun.

The one thing I do recomend for any woman who is thinking about fighting, heck even for those who do fight, man or woman is to read The Iron Rose, by Duchess Elina of Beckenham (MKA Tobi Beck). You might even consider visiting the web sit she has set up.
